Tropical Farms Macadamia Nut Farm Oahu

Located on the East coast of Oahu, Tropical Farms Macadamia Nut Farm is nestled in the shadow of the mountains of the Koolau Range. It is a nice place to enjoy Hawaiian treats and bring home some gifts and souvenirs. Initially, this farm began as a roadside outlet for macadamia nuts in 1987. It was a convenient little country store on the way to the Northshore. After three decades, the farm has become a great place to pull over and explore.

Macadamia nuts and other fruits are freshly grown on this farm, so visitors can enjoy the unique flavours that aren’t available in any other stores in Waikiki. It is also interesting to notice that the farm offers free samples of Cinnamon Macadamias as well as Kona coffee in their store. Visitors should try a cup of Kona Macadamia Nut Coffee here. Moreover, the farm also provides pearl jewellery, art, and aromatic oils you won’t find in Waikiki

Mac Nut Farm Tours and Activities

Visitors can take Alii Tour, the Mac Nut Farm tour that lasts about one hour and takes you to the plantation and fishpond. Visitors also have a chance to see how the Hawaiian lived off the land. The farm tour is lead by a funny guide named the Chief. He will drive you through the farm and share some interesting stories about macadamia, Hawaiian food and customs.

It is also great to see how to open a coconut and try it yourself. After that, you will be on a short boat ride around the fishpond. The Chief will tell you more about the history of the area. Some movies have been filmed here, including Tears of the Sun, Along Came Polly, Gilligan’s Island, and more. Finally, you will have a chance to try tropical fruits right off the tree. There is nothing better than eating a fully ripe fruit that is picked from the tree. The Chief then drive you back to the store where you can bring home some souvenirs.

Enjoy your time at North Shore Macadamia Nut Farm. Trust us, this place is definitely worth a visit. Our Grand Tour Around Island has a stop at this place. Check out our tour to have more information. We are looking forward to hearing from you soon. Maloha!
