Toa Luau Festivals
On the grass area, you'll discover some engaging luau activities that will show you the traditional methods and techniques of preparing for a big feast. Using coconut husks to start a fire, peeling apple bananas with wooden knives, shaving coconut chips, and making fish lau laus are just a few of the preparations for your great luau feast. It's a great pleasure to see how everything comes together in the end.
The Kava Ceremony
After the work is completed, the group gathers for a traditional kava ritual. This was a very memorable moment of the Toa luau, in my opinion. You will be split into groups to assist you in playing a vital part in the event.
There are times when you will sense the intensity of the tribesmen's interaction and wish you could cut the crowd's quiet with a knife. Not to panic, since this is a time for family and friend bonding.
The Hawaiian Luau
The luau feast starts once the Kava Ceremony has ended. In Samoan culture, it's a man’s job to cook and serve food for family members as well as guests at a party or event, and eat only after everyone else has been looked after and nourished... Quite remarkable!
As a visitor at the Toa Luau, you will note that there is a plentiful supply of food available. I think it is to ensure that they do not go hungry themselves after everyone has sat down to a delicious meal with them.
